Plan My Safari
Your kind of journey

The wild is for everyone.

Choose how you travel and the comfort you want, then shape the details with our team. Whichever you choose, the parks and the wildlife are the same.

Our catalogue confirms the travel style of two journeys, both group-joining. For any other journey, ask how it runs and whether a private version is available.

Comfort levels

Three ways to stay.

Budget, midrange and luxury describe where you sleep and how much is fixed in advance. They do not change the parks or the wildlife.

What the catalogue says.

Every line below is counted from our catalogue of 100 journeys. Where it says nothing, we say so.

What changes, and what doesn’t

What changes, and what doesn’t

What changes

  • Where you sleep, and whether the catalogue names it
  • Whether a price is published or quoted for your dates
  • How long and how far journeys go

What stays the same

  • The parks and reserves: the best-known appear at every level
  • The wildlife: no comfort level can promise a sighting
  • On road safaris in Kenya and Tanzania, the 4×4 Land Cruiser
One journey at each level

Questions travellers ask

Styles, answered.

Browse all 100 journeys

Does a more comfortable safari mean more wildlife?
No. The comfort level changes where you sleep and how much is fixed in advance. The parks are the same, and no safari at any level can promise a sighting.
Why do only budget journeys show prices?
Our catalogue publishes prices for 17 budget journeys, per person in US dollars. Every midrange and luxury journey is quoted for your dates, group and the lodges you choose.
Is group-joining the same as budget?
No. How you travel and where you stay are separate choices. The two journeys our catalogue confirms as group-joining are budget journeys; for any other journey, ask how it runs.
Are luxury safaris private?
Our catalogue does not confirm private use for any luxury journey. Ask whether the vehicle is private to your party, and we will tell you what the journey includes.
Can I mix comfort levels?
Choose “Not sure” for comfort in Plan My Safari and we can suggest a mix that suits your route and budget.
