The route, days and named stays are as planned. What is included at each stop, from food, park fees and drinking water to room types, permits and border arrangements, and any camp or lodge not named here, is set out in your written quotation. Game drives on travel days depend on arrival and departure times, timings can change with road and park conditions, and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Photographs illustrate each day’s destination; they are not pictures of a particular departure.

Entebbe → Bwindi
A flight carries you from central Uganda towards the south-west, over the lakes and farmland of the country’s centre and on into a landscape of steep green hills. From the airstrip a road transfer climbs towards the forest, where the last stretches into the park are winding murram roads. Arriving early gives the afternoon to settle at the lodge, take in the views across Bwindi’s ridges and valleys, and prepare for tomorrow’s trek.

Today is the trek itself: into the rainforest, under the Uganda Wildlife Authority’s rules, in search of a habituated family. Your quotation confirms whether the gorilla permit is part of the package and how it is booked. Bwindi’s ridges are steep and the vegetation thick, so the walk can be demanding, and how long it takes depends on where the gorillas have moved overnight. Once the family is found, the time spent with them is carefully limited under Uganda Wildlife Authority rules, and watching the family go about its day at close range is the moment the whole journey is built around.

Before leaving, the forest has more to offer than its gorillas. The Uganda Wildlife Authority records around 120 mammal species here, among them chimpanzees, elephants and forest antelopes, along with more than 200 kinds of butterflies and birds such as the African green broadbill, an Albertine Rift endemic. After a quiet morning near the lodge, the road transfer returns to the airstrip for the flight back to central Uganda and your onward travel.
