In the suburb of Karen, the National Museums of Kenya care for the farmhouse at the foot of the Ngong Hills where the Danish author Karen Blixen lived until 1931, the setting of “Out of Africa”; it opened as a museum in 1986, with a nature trail around the house. The Giraffe Centre breeds the Rothschild giraffe and has released more than 40 into parks and reserves across Kenya, and it has a nature sanctuary for birdwatching and talks about Kenyan wildlife. Mamba Village, the third stop named in the title, completes the day, and what the visit includes is set out when you book.
