Starts in Kampala · finishes in Kampala
The route, days and named stays are as planned. What is included at each stop, from food, park fees and drinking water to room types, permits and border arrangements, and any camp or lodge not named here, is set out in your written quotation. Game drives on travel days depend on arrival and departure times, timings can change with road and park conditions, and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Photographs illustrate each day’s destination; they are not pictures of a particular departure.

Kampala → Queen Elizabeth National Park
The first day is the journey west across Uganda to Kasese District, where the park spreads between Lake Edward and Lake George. The Uganda Wildlife Authority notes that most road itineraries take in other places on the way, and the drive gives a sense of how green and varied the country is before the landscape opens into savannah. Arriving in the afternoon, the first impression is of space: wide grassland, scattered trees and, on a clear day, the Rwenzori Mountains on the horizon.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Game viewing in Queen Elizabeth often divides naturally between land and water. On the open grassland you may find buffalo and elephants, while the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George, draws hippos, buffalo and elephants to its banks. The birdlife along the water is outstanding, with pelicans, saddle-billed storks and African fish eagles among the species to look for, and the park’s records even include the shoebill.

Queen Elizabeth National Park → Kampala
Before leaving there may be time for a last look at the plains in the early light. One of the park’s small curiosities lies on the way out: monuments mark the exact point where Queen Elizabeth crosses the equator, a good place to stop for a photograph. The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later, and the long drive back to Kampala is a good time to look through the pictures from a short but varied stay.
